Activity
Research
NGO law institute is continuously investigating the Lithuanian legal environment as well as is engaged in various comparative analyses. Although these analyses are usually included in undertaken projects, we accept the orders for research as much as it concerns non-profit law and the public initiatives' role in public life.
These are the major researches of NGO law institute.
Consultations
The opinion poll conducted by the Institute in 2008 suggested that over 80% of Lithuanian NGOs lack legal knowledge. This is the reason why we are aiming at the creation of the system capable of ensuring the NGOs' universal access to legal services. We believe that NGO activities and structure of the organizations themselves are so specific that a mere professional legal qualification is not enough to satisfy the non-governmental organizations' needs. Therefore the NGO law institute has united legal professionals and experts specializing in the field of NGO law, on the one hand, and is accepting requests from organizations and other interested persons (irrespective of the region of their activity), on the other. Such scheme is expected to ensure that NGOs will get proper legal aid whenever they need it.
Experts and legal professionals interested in joining the NGO law institute's initiative will find more information in the section "For experts".
Non-governmental organizations will find additional information about issues of concern and consultations in the section "For organizations".
Projects
We conduct projects in the field of NGO law on our own. They are usually aimed at pointing out existing problems to the public authorities and proposing possible improvements of relevant legislation. Meanwhile education of organizations themselves is carried out: information seminars to certain groups of organizations are conducted, trainings are provided, as well as publications are compiled, etc.
NGO fields and forms of activities are very diverse therefore we are always excited to contribute to any of them by means our legal research. NGO law institute is in constant search of organizations - partners willing to cooperate in common projects intended to stimulate professionalism and transparency of non-governmental activities. Provided you are an establishment or an organization interested in cooperation of such kind or have specific ideas on improvement of your NGO sector's activity please inform us - we are always open to suggestions.
